The National Association of Minority Contractors—Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter (NAMC-WMAC) has launched the “JOBS NOT DRUGS” initiative to create job opportunities and build career paths for youth in DC’s Wards 7 and 8, targeting ages 16-24.
This initiative aims to support youth in addressing the opioid crisis and its impact on employment by connecting local employers, businesses, developers, and general contractors with District residents. By fostering partnerships with social service organizations, job training programs, and vocational education providers, the business community can contribute to sustainable employment solutions. Together, we strive for a significant reduction in both opioid use and gun violence, positively impacting both perpetrators and victims in our Nation’s Capital.
